Thirty-second Sunday in Ordinary Time
November 8, 2026
“Therefore, stay awake, for you know neither the day nor the hour.” – Matthew 25:13
Reflection
What an abundance of love Jesus has for his followers! Even when he gives us a command, as in today’s Gospel reading, he always provides ways for us to follow and keep it. One of the methods he uses to engage our hearts and minds is through the words of the music that our whole beings meditate upon during Mass.
God produces unique gifts to those involved in music ministry in the way the Word comes alive through our voices and other instruments. All of us in the assembly “stay awake” spiritually by embracing the truth proclaimed in every Responsorial Psalm, acclamation, hymn, etc. This helps us to be ready to receive Jesus’ Body and Blood, which then prepares us to go forth, living God’s purpose for our lives.
Prayer
Wonderful and gracious God,
please help us to continue to prepare to meet you in our daily lives,
and when you return in glory to take us home,
whatever the day or the hour this will be.
Amen.
