New Music Reading Session (Seton)
A lot of our groups kicked off this past week. Check out the Youthful Choir for Sunday's at 11am. Join anytime you want/can. Guitar Time on Mondays at 5:30pm is also a very flexible time (drop in when you can). We are in need of one or two more ringers for handbells, so consider joining that on Monday at 6:45pm.
Signups (HERE) are now open for the Diocean Clergy Musican Dinner on Friday 10/8 at Annunciation in Paris, KY. We will carpool together. Cost for Music Ministry Members is $12.50.
All members of our ministry are invited by Fr. Miguel to a special Mini-Retreat next week. There are two options Monday 9/21 from 6-8pm in the chuch and Friday 9/5 from 6-8am. RSVP to me if you are planning on attending (and have not responded to someone else).
Tonight we will have our regular rehearsal time at 6:15pm, followed by Parish Choir rehearsal 7:00-7:45pm. I am looking forward to our school choir (which now has over 40 members) singing with the Praise Band at our 5pm Mass.

Twenty-fifth Sunday in Ordinary Time
September 20, 2026
“The Lord is near to all who call upon him.” – Psalm 145
Reflection
September. Is. Bonkers. The weather and schedules change more dramatically than all six musical portions of Queen’s "Bohemian Rhapsody." Vacation is over, choir season is back in session, and our psalm proclaims that God is with us in these shifts. “Great is the LORD and highly to be praised; his greatness is unsearchable!”
It’s time for new music. Time to prep your church clothes for purple or white color-schemes (because the Advent / Christmas seasons are playfully sneaking up like a jump scare in a horror movie). Time to sharpen your pencils - you know, the ones you will not forget to bring to practice.
"Classroom rules" of being on time, showing respect, being prepared, following directions, giving your all, and doing everything for God are outward actions that reflect his goodness. Like in Matthew 20:1-16 when the workers receive the same wage regardless of when they start their labor, these things invite all who call upon God to be included in his work (at any hour that we enter the vineyard). So, welcome the “new kids” in our ministry and in our parishes, pray for those who can’t return this season, and help guide those who are seeking to know him. Change happens, and God is here.
Prayer
Heavenly Father,
you are the Creator of all things old and new.
Let us welcome this new season of song with open hearts and minds.
May we sing your love to all who call upon you.
Help us prepare a table of hospitality
before all who come to sit with us at your gracious feast, regardless of the hour.
In Jesus’s name we pray.
Amen.
